Chehel Dokhtar Cave-Sarbisheh PDF Print E-mail

This cave was discovered in 1995 around Kallateh Akhoond in Sarbisheh Township 70 kilometers southeast to Birjand. The entrance of this cave is like a vestibule 1.5 meter high. Inside of the cave there is a 3 meters high hall. All corridors are closed due to sedimentation of different materials. Some objects like stone blades have been discovered in it indicative of being used by Man as shelter. Other caves of the province are Faas between Gonabad and Qaenat and Khadang cave in the city of Qaen.
