 This river passes through northern parts of the province eastward. Other important rivers of the province are Fakh Rood, Ali-Abad and Khoshab.

This is a permanent river with low amount of water. From southeast to northwest originating from the heights of Mazhan Plain. After joining to Shahrood as Roodeshur flows to Dasht-e-Loot. The upper parts of this river are used as recreational areas. 
 

Birjand Rood

 This river originates from eastern heights of Birjand crossing Birjand Plain joining Karichgan River southward ending to Kavir Loot. This river, known also as Shahrood and Birjand, crosses Birjand as a big flood course with a high quanity of water in raining seasons.

Momen-Abad Mountain and Summit-Birjand

 Momen-Abad or Mina Abad extends parallel to the former one and its summit is 2,782 meters high. There are in the skirts of this mountain several springs, streams and resorts which are usually used in hot seasons by urban and plain residents. Moreover, here Ahangaran Mountain should be pointed out of which Sepestan summit is 2,830 meters and is the highest point of the province.
