The said museum was constructed in the year 1967 in this city. It comprises of various sections exhibiting ancient, historical articles, two segments which are devoted to anthropology and a library.
Natural History Musem, Orumieh
The province of West Azarbayjan has two Natural History Museums. One in the University of Orumieh and the other in the Environmental Directorate (regional office of the Department of The Environment). Exhibits of different animals, mammals, birds, reptiles, wildlife species and a variety of insects are on display here.
Miandoab Museum, Miandoab
This museum was inaugurated in the year 1968 and has brought about a wide collection of relics from the past. Articles such as bronze and other metals related to the pre-historic ages, earthenware of the Islamic period, a collection of coins etc., a section related to anthropology, and a variety of other remnants are on display.
