The same is located in Bida Khid in Yazd. It comprises of a mausoleum, monastery and mosque that are regarded as valuable relics of the region. Within the mausoleum there are three tombs, one of which belongs to the reputable Gnostic Sheikh Ali Benyamin. This monument, in terms of inscription and other historical and artistic works, is of great cultural importance. The wooden inscription above the front door of the mausoleum in 'Naskh' script shows that this monument was built in 826 AH.
Bondor Abad Monastery, Rastaq, Yazd
The Soltan aggregate of Bondor Abad is located in the Rastaq vicinity. The most significant parts of this complex are: Monastery (Khaneqah), Jame' Mosque, Hosseinieh (Mourning Place), water reservoir, watch tower and a tomb which is the burial-place of a number of Sheikhs of Dadaee Dynasty.
The followings can be mentioned as other old mosques of Yazd province: Behabad Jame' Mosque, Aharestan, Hadji Kamal Mosques, Jame' Mosque of Ardakan, Firooz Abad Jame' Mosque, Amand Gol in Nadooshan, Abarqoo Jame' Mosque, Imam Hassan Mosque, Large Posht-e-Baq Mosque, Zavieh Mosque, Seyed Roknedin Mosque in Yazd, Kharanaq Jame' Mosque in Bafq, Marvast Jame' Mosque etc.
Tarzjan Jame' Mosque, Yazd
The said mosque of the Tarzjan Village is distinct in architectural techniques from other mosques in the province. Due to being located in a mountainous region, wooden pillars and beams have been used in its construction.
Shah Vali Mosque, Taft
This mosque has a hot chamber bath and summer section. The same is situated in Taft. Its important relics are: marble stone of adythum in 125cm. x 64cm. dimension on which an encarving of flowers (gol boteh) and Qandil along with "Aqam-e-Alsalat" writings on margins and "La Elaha Ellallah" [There is no God but Allah] writings on the top, in beautiful Naskh script.
This mosque is situated in the south of Khan Bazaar square, built under the orders of Molla Esmaeil Aqdie, one of the prominent scholars of the clergy in the 13th century AH. Mollah Ismaeil completed the corners of the threshold and the parlors on both sides of the dome and part of the mosque designed for sleeping or nocturnal prayers in 1222 AH.
The same is reputedly known as the Jame' Nou Mosque. The mosque is a relic of the Safavid period, and was constructed by Amir Jalaleddin Chakhmaq Shami and his spouse Fatimeh Khatoon (Seti Bibi). Amir Chakhmaq was the governor of the time in Yazd, and one of the Teimoorids commanders, who was held in high esteem by the monarch Shahrokh.
This archaic and extremely valuable structure is a collection of shimmering tiles, tall minarets, beautiful plaster work, spacious and airy courtyards, nocturnal areas for use in the winter season, and the turquoise colored dome which reflects quiet serene.
This mosque, is situated at a distance of 30 kilometers east of Yazd, and its date of construction goes back to the beginning of the Islamic era. It has wide pillars and the covering roof resembles that of a cradle. Only its minaret dates back to a later period. Considering its role, in expressing the essence and originality of architecture and art of mosque construction during fourteen centuries; it is undoubtedly one of the unique heritages of Islamic culture and civilization.
Bondor Abad Mosque, Yazd
This mosque is at a distance of 36 kilometers from Yazd, and is located in a village named Bondor Abad. The structure of the mosque has a strong resemblance to the mosques of the 8th century AH. This means that the mosque courtyard is in the shape of a square with an area of 11m. x 11m. In its eastern and western section are two long nine meters wide porches.
This mosque located at a distance of 74 kilometers from Naein. It has a hot bath and a summer porch. Above the altar there is a star-like tile similar to those of 8th century AH.
Other Mausoleums and Imamzadehs, Yazd
Other sacred shrines and tombs in the province are: Imamzadeh Seyed Mohammad, 3 kilometers from Aqda. Imamzadeh Zeid Ebne Musa Alkazem, Imamzadeh Seyed Mir Hussein, Imam Zadeh Shah Zadeh Fazel. The Zarandian, Seyed Panhoun and Sheikh Dad in Yazd. Seyed Khalil Mausoleum in the Darvaze Mosalla Atiq locality, Imamzadeh Abdullah Ebne Musa Ebne Jafar (P.B.U.H. [peace be upon him]) in Bafq, Pire Cheraq Tomb in Maybod and the resting abode the Martyrs of Fahraj.
Sheikh Zeinol Abedin Ali Khamoosh Mausoleum, Yazd
This mausoleum is located in the village of Nadooshan. 35 kilometers from Yazd. Sheikh Ali was one of the 6th century Gnostics and mystics (Sufis) who was martyred and his tomb became a pilgrimage site and a place for alms and charity. A slab of stone with the dimensions of 20 x 25 centimeters on which poems and verses in the Nasta'liq script have been engraved, along with the latticed wooden box on the tomb, some endowed (book racks), an exquisite handwritten Qoran in Naskh script dating back to the 7th century AH, old fashioned lanterns hanging from the ceiling of the structure and… are among the interesting and noticeable relics of this mausoleum.
Sheikh Davood Mausoleum, Yazd
The same is located in the village of Nasr Abad of Yazd. On Sheikh's tomb, there is a stone with dimensions of 45 x 83 centimeters adorned with an inscription in Naskh script in which have designated the name of "Davood Ebne Sheikh Ebrahim Ebne Mohammad Ebne Ahmad Almoallem Alhaftadi". Sheikh Davood passed away in 815 AH.
This structure is the remnant of a monastery, mosque and mausoleum which is reputedly known as Sheikh Ahmad Esfanjerdy and belonged to Sheikh Ahmad Fahadan. Sheikh Fakhrodin Ahmad and his brother, Mohammad, were from Esfanjerd and were doing Shumali. They migrated from their birth place and settled in the Fahadan locality in Yazd.
This shrine with a tall dome is situated near the Chahar Menar Quarter. Each side of the dome is 9.25 meters and thickness of the walls is 2.35 meters. Probably the reason to call this place as Shah Seyed Reza, is the existence of a tombstone of a person named Shah Seyed Reza who died in 955 AH.
Shah Khalil Allah Sani, son of Mir Shah Taqi Uddin and the great grandchild of Shah Nematollah Vali was killed in Harat and his corpse was transferred to Taft and was buried there. This edifice was a section of a wide and expanded complex built by Shah Nematollah Vali known as a Khaneqah or a kind of monastery used by the Dervish, Shah Khalil's tombstone with the dimensions of 29 x 100 centimeters and to the height of 23 centimeters has inscriptions in the Tholth and Naskh scripts.
Seti Fatimeh Mausoleum, Yazd
This structure is located at the north of Mir Chakhmaq Square. It is a one-room building with a nightcap-like dome which is covered by green tiles. It belongs to Seti Fatimeh Khatoon the spouse of the famous Amir Chakhmaq who passed away in the 9th century.
Sadat Qol Howallah Mausoleum, Yazd
This building is situated opposite the western entrance of Jame' Mosque in Yazd. There is a marble tomb stone with the dimensions of 182 x 48 x 28 cm. and a black gravestone with the dimensions of 152 x 48 x 28 cm. on which the date of 10th century AH. is visible. There is a brick inscription above the threshold which is considered a new and recent piece of work.
This pilgrimage site is situated in Mehrjerd village of Maybod city. The entrance facade has been restored and two minarets were also constructed and annexed to the edifice. Two tombstones are here of remarkable importance and antiquity. One is in frontal portion of shrine structure with the dimensions of 46 x 32 centimeters and the other one is in the same room with the dimensions of 33 x 33 centimeters.
The same is situated in Yazd province. It is the burial-place of "Reis Moheb Ali Ebne Reis Qiyasedin Ben Reis Mahmood Kuki". According to a donated grave stone, this Imamzadeh had been present in the year 998 AH.
Imamzadeh Koshteh Khaneh, Mehreez
This resting-place is located next to the Jame' Mosque in Mehreez of Yazd province. According to some narrations during Mongol invasion to Iran a group who took refuge in this Imamzadeh, were massacred, thus called "Koshteh Khaneh" (house of killed people).
The said is the resting abode of Imamzadeh Mohammad Ebne Ali reputedly known as Imamzadeh Jafar. He passed away in 424 AH. and was buried in Hossainian Alley of Yazd. Throughout the years, renovations have taken place at this site which is held in great respect by the inhabitants.
Imamzadeh Abdollah, Bafq
There exists a magnificent splendid and grand edifice, which, in terms of architectural design, dome, tile-work, and its internal decorations, is regarded as an invaluable vestige. The walls of the room have been covered with hexagonal azure tiles with black and white margins which were very popular in the 8th and 9th centuries AH.
This shrine constructed in 429 AH., is located near the Hosseinieh (place where the martyrdom of Imam Hossein is mourned for theater of passion-players of the Fahadan Quarter). According to the inscription in the building, it was constructed by Abu Masoud Beheshti. and Abu Yaqub Isaac, said to be colonels in Allaud Dowleh government.
